Samsung has responded to some issues that early reviewers have found with the camera system on the new Galaxy S20 Ultra. The company says it's working on an update to improve the camera, though it doesn't acknowledge any specific problem or confirm when the fixes will be available.
We have seen the issues ourselves with both focus hunting and overbearing skin smoothing. Our review will be posted soon.
"The Galaxy S20 features a groundbreaking, advanced camera system," Samsung says in a statement to The Verge. "We are constantly working to optimize performance to deliver the best experience for consumers. As part of this ongoing effort, we are working on a future update to improve the camera experience."
Reviews from publications, including PC Mag and Input, have highlighted that the autofocus system is unreliable, often taking a long time to lock onto a subject and sometimes failing to do so. We're still putting the finishing touches on the Verge review, but we can confirm that we've found the same. The camera also exhibits aggressive image processing in certain situations, with a tendency to excessively smooth out skin.
The Galaxy S20 Ultra's camera system is one of its main selling points, including a substantial 108-megapixel sensor and a periscope telephoto lens that Samsung pitches as being usable at up to 100x zoom. Stay tuned for our review tomorrow to see how it all works out in practice — at least, how it works right now.
Did you see our camera comparison starring the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra? The quad-camera had us "cautiously excited but also underwhelmed," and we're not alone in this – Samsung has taken note of early reviews and has started working on an update to improve the camera.
However, the company did not say what issues specifically it will focus on. "The Galaxy S20 features a groundbreaking, advanced camera system," it told The Verge. "We are constantly working to optimize performance to deliver the best experience for consumers. As part of this ongoing effort, we are working on a future update to improve the camera experience".
The exclusive camera setup featuring a 108MP Nona Bayer sensor and a 48MP periscope cam capable of 100x zoom are the main selling points of the Galaxy S20 Ultra over the lower-priced Galaxy S20+. That and the optional 45W fast charge (which requires you to buy a separate power brick).
Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite gets a 512GB storage variant.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite originally came in two memory configurations - 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB. Today a third version joins them, with 8GB RAM and 512GB storage.
This new model was announced in India for INR44,999 ($625/€565), and it will go on sale in the country from March 1 through the company's official India site, Samsung Opera House, leading online portals as well as retail stores.
If that's too steep, you can go for the 128GB storage variant with 8GB RAM that costs INR39,999 ($555/€500). Samsung didn't launch the 6GB RAM model in India.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite is powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC and sports a 6.7" FHD+ Infinity-O Super AMOLED Plus display.
It features a 48MP triple camera on the back and packs a 4,500 mAh battery with 45W fast charging support.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite appears in a press render with S-Pen.
After announcing the Galaxy Tab S6 and Galaxy Tab S6 5G, Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite soon. It recently bagged Bluetooth certification, and now its press render has surfaced, revealing its design.
The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite looks similar to the vanilla Tab S6, and the image reveals it will retain the S-Pen.
The tablet also has the cellular network icon in the status bar, meaning it will support LTE connectivity. But it's said to have a Wi-Fi-only variant as well.

The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is rumored to have 64GB and 128GB storage options, and according to Geekbench, it will run Android 10 and have an Exynos 9611 SoC at the helm paired with 4GB RAM.
The rest of the specs of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite are still a mystery, but more information about it should surface soon.
Samsung is preparing to launch a new "lite" tablet, which is expected to be called the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, and we have your first look at that new tablet.
The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite might look fairly familiar, as it is supposed to resemble the Galaxy Tab S6 that was announced last year. It also comes with the same redesigned S Pen.
While it's not confirmed that this tablet will have wireless charging available for the S Pen, it is very likely. Since this is a thicker S Pen than what comes with the Galaxy Note series, which means it can't fit in a silo inside the tablet. Making wireless charging a must.
Mid-range specs for a "Lite" tablet
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite sport the Exynos 9611 chipset, which is the same processor found in many of the company's mid-range smartphones. Exynos 9611 is a competent processor, but not the best silicon available. It will also come with 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of storage. The storage will likely be dependent on the region that is being sold in.
The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is taking the "lite" term to heart and will be a cheaper tablet too. Where the Galaxy Tab S6 was priced at $649, it wouldn't be crazy to see this model priced around $399 or even less. It likely won't be much less than that, as Samsung has not given up on its Galaxy Tab A series; in fact, a new 8.4-inch model is coming rather soon. And the Galaxy Tab A series is generally around $200, depending on the size.
It will also run Android 10 out of the box, and most likely, One UI 2.1 – which debuted on the Galaxy S20 earlier this month.
We don't yet have data on the size of the display but expect it to be very similar in size to the regular Galaxy Tab S6.
Launch is imminent
Expect Samsung to announce the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite very shortly. While we don't have an exact date for the announcement, it should be in the next few weeks. Considering these renders are made very close to the official launch of a product.
Since Samsung doesn't have any other big product launch events scheduled yet (though we know there will be one around August for the Galaxy Note series), this tablet will likely be announced via press release from the company very soon.
Samsung Galaxy Note10 update improves face unlock and gesture navigation.
Samsung has started the global rollout of the latest software update for its Galaxy Note10 lineup with Germany, and the update includes essential refinements of the face unlock and the gesture-based navigation system.
The firmware versions for the Note10 and Note10+ phones are N975FOXM2BTB3, N975FXXU2BTB5, and N975FXXU2BTB3 respectively, and are now being distributed to units in Germany. The update requires a download of around 260MB big and improves the facial recognition algorithm along with the gestures used for navigation.

And if you haven't received the update yet, wait patiently, and it would come in the following days.

Samsung Introduces Best-in-class Data Security Chip Solution for Mobile Devices
Samsung's new Secure Element solution features secure key storage with CC EAL 5+ certification and dedicated security software for enhanced data protection
Samsung Electronics, a world leader in advanced semiconductor technology, today introduced a Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level (CC EAL) 5+ certified Secure Element (SE) turnkey solution for mobile devices. The new SE offers a strong security solution, consisting of a security chip (S3K250AF) and optimized software, that fully guards private data on an isolated data storage.
"Strong security measures have become a crucial feature in today's smart devices as they evolve into essential tools that hold the key to our personal data connected to various services such as the cloud and financial transactions," said Dongho Shin, senior vice president of System LSI marketing at Samsung Electronics. "Samsung has a long and proven history in security solutions such as smart card ICs, IoT processors, and other semiconductor products that require robust security. Our new turnkey SE solution for mobile devices will not only keep user data safer on the go but also enable new mobile applications that will broaden and enrich our everyday lives."
From checking emails and making online payments to replacing house keys and airplane tickets, smart devices continue to offer more applications that enforce stronger security requirements. Samsung's new turnkey solution is a dedicated tamper-resistant strongbox that securely stores users' confidential and cryptographic data such as pin numbers, passwords, and even crypto-currency credentials separate from the typical mobile memory such as embedded Universal Flash Storage (eUFS).
The S3K250AF-based SE combines a microcontroller, advanced hardware-level protection, and an optimized, secure OS. With a CC EAL 5+ certified-hardware, the highest level received by a mobile component, and dedicated protection software, the solution ensures top-notch security assurance on mobile devices. While current smartphones or tablets already have strong security in place to fend off possible tampering, the security-dedicated chip adds additional countermeasures to defend against possible attacks such as reverse engineering, power glitches, and laser attacks, making it extremely harder for others to access or copy stored confidential data. In addition, the SE solution manages failed attempts and prevents replay attacks by accepting only the latest authentication request as a valid one.
Samsung's new SE solution is currently in mass production and is featured in Samsung's recently-announced Galaxy S20 series smartphones.
